Presentation of Laboratory
The Laboratory of Environmental Bioprocesses has the role of studying the biological system involved in the aerobic and anaerobic degradation of urban and industrial wastewaters. This Laboratory had made experience in biological pre-treatment of industrial and urban effluents and studied the integration of membrane technology for water management and reuse. This Laboratory had expertise in biogas, fungal microbiology, bioreactors and production of olive oil antioxidants by extraction and/or bioconversion. Pilot scale anaerobic biological treatment of industrial wastewaters is available. Bench-scale anaerobic reactors are available which can be operated in combination with membrane filtration to achieve extremely low and germ free effluent concentrations.
