Collaborative projects
UVRR works closely with CBS Laboratories. It ensures regularly on behalf of CBS Laboratories different processes: fermentation, separation, and purification, using membrane processes, concentration and drying.

1.The UVRR actively cooperates with the Biopesticides Laboratory of CBS in the following topics:
  •   Development of fermentative production of new biopesticides developed at the Laboratory.
  •   Formulation and packaging of some biopesticides.

2. The UVRR actively cooperates with the Microbial Laboratory of Biotechnology and Engineering of Enzymes (LBMIE) in the development of fermentation processes :
  • Extrapolation of producing alkaline proteases by recombinant strains of Bacillus subtilis isolated in LBMIE for use in the cosmetic sector. These proteases are also tested on an industrial scale in the detergency and the tannery.
  • Extrapolation of producing Fructo-tagatose syrup from whey.

3.  UVRR actively cooperates with the Laboratory for Environmental bioprocesses (LBPe) in the following topics:

  • Pilot scale production of active biomolecules and their transfer for possible application.
  •  Extrapolation of microalgae culture and their metabolites extraction.

4. UVRR is actively cooperating with the Microorganisms and Biomolecules Laboratoryin the conduct of fermentation, separation and drying of active biomolecules.

  •  UVRR cooperates actively with the Laboratory of biomass valorization and production of proteins in eukaryotes (LVBPE) in the production of fungal enzymes or recombinant cells (yeasts and E. coli) using fermentation processes (in increasing capacity fermenters up to 430 liters), concentration and drying.
  •  UVRR is also collaborating with economic operators in the application and transfer of research results and/or recovery and resolution of constraints or problems encountered by some Tunisian industries:
  • Collaboration with the 'Nopal Tunisia' company on the application of the products and / or processes with added values (prepared by the UVRR) in the cactus production chain OPUNTIA FICUS INDICA for improving articles produced by NOPAL, or the development of new products.
  • Collaboration with the Générale industrielle des produits alimentaires (GIPA) company on the transfer and use of active biomolecules (developed at CBS), mainly' Natural antioxidants' in its range of products.
  • Collaboration with the 'Agromed' company on the valuation of Whey.
